FIREFIGHTERS are on the scene of a blaze in central St Albans.

The fire in Portland Street broke out just after 8.30am this morning (Friday) in an end of terrace property.

Crews from St Albans and Hatfield attended the scene and swiftly put out the flames, and nobody was injured.

Firefighters from St Albans remain on the scene carrying out investigations as to how the blaze started.
