A FIRE broke out in a St Albans hairdressers this afternoon.

Four fire engines are still at the Toni and Guy hairdresser on Chequer Street after being called to the salon at around 2pm.

They are working to remove the smoke from the building and Nando’s, which has also been affected.

The road is closed to those attempting to travel into the city centre but open in the other direction.
