A lorry fire on the M1 is wreaking havoc for drivers, with fire fighters from St Albans and Markyate on the scene tackling the blaze.
Crews were called to reports of an LGV alight on the M1 northbound between junctions eight and nine.
Around 26 tonnes of shredded material being carried by a trailer were allegedly on fire.
Fire fighters are using two jets, hose reel jets to damp down the vehicle and the burned materials.
Drivers are advised to be careful due to the large amount of smoke.
