MORE than 150 tonnes of baled hay went up in flames on Saturday evening.
Firefighters from St Albans were called to Highfield Farm in Tyttenhanger at around 7.15pm where they found the massive stack of hay along with wood chippings well alight.
The fire, which broke out in a field adjacent to an S-bend along Highfield Lane, was under control by 10.15pm but crews continued to monitor the situation throughout the night.
The incident is being treated as doubtful.
