A chance to hear about how the new Heartwood Forest is progressing is on offer at a meeting of the Ver Valley Society this week.
It is being held at 7.30pm next Tuesday, July 21, in Markyate Village Hall, Cavendish Road, and the talk about the forest in Sandridge will be given by Dr Linda Smith.
The Woodland Trust is behind the planting of Heartwood Forest which will be the largest new native forest in England when it is complete.
The Ver Valley Society holds its meetings up and down the valley along which its 250-strong membership is spread. The meeting is open to non-members and admission is free although donations are appreciated.
