A record number of people flocked to Harpenden’s Festival on the Field last weekend to soak up the sunshine and raise money for local schools.
The festival was held at Sir John Lawes School playing field, and showed the England v Sweden game on a big screen.
Although Coldplay tribute band Yellow had to withdraw from the event due to a case of laryngitis, tribute performer JK (as Robbie Williams) was able to take his place at short notice, performing in front of a 3,000-strong crowd. Rock band Massaoke also performed as the headline act.
Festival organiser Mark Hill said: “A massive thanks to everyone who attended and supported us. This is an outdoor musical event on a monumental scale that is unequalled locally. And it is a team effort by a group of volunteers all trying to do our bit for local schools.”
Previous festivals have raised more than £20,000.
