A forest of dressed Christmas trees will once again decorate the Gothic interior of a St Albans church during the festive period.

One hundred Christmas trees, decorated by community groups, will transform St Saviour’s Church in Sandpit Lane until midday on Christmas Eve.

The Christmas Tree Festival will run from 10am until 5pm daily.

Admission is free to everything, including the evening musical entertainment provided by the Quorum Singers on December 18, Cantilena Choir on December 22, and popular ukulele band, Katie’s Jumping Fleas, on December 23.

During the day there will be musical entertainment to accompany viewing of the trees from local musicians including the Fleetville Harmony SIngers and Fleetville Swing Band.

Craft stalls selling jewellery, pottery, turned wooden bowls, handmade soaps, collectable bears and soft toys will be operating throughout the festival, together with a cafe selling hot drinks, cakes and lunches.

Children’s activities are also provided as well as a Grand Draw with prizes designed to attract all ages.
