Commuters may face disruption this morning after a faulty train blocked crucial lines from St Albans in the early hours.
Congestion started building after the 4.33am service from Bedford to Three Bridges broke down between London St Pancras International and London Blackfriars.
The problem carriages have been moved to City Thameslink, where passengers could disembark.
Issues should now start to ease, but trains from St Albans may still be cancelled, delayed, or revised.
It is not expected to completely clear until 11am.
