A fire at a farm in Harpenden took two fire crews three hours to put out last night.

The blaze burned through a haystack at a Roundwood Lane farm, and fire crews rushed to save as many of the bales as possible.

Crews from Redbourn and Harpenden were called at 8.57pm on Tuesday, Augiust 29, to the farm, and were able to rescue a good amount of hay.

The fire is being treated as deliberate, but the police are not investigating any case of arson.

Herts county council, who run the fire service, say the incident was over by 11.51pm.
