A SPECTACULAR show is on the cards for this year's Verulamium Park fireworks display.
Around 20,000 visitors are expected to attend the event on November 7, which will include a half-hour sequential display of fireworks and attractions such as a fun fair, music and plenty of hot food stalls.
Giffen Group, an electrical installation, maintenance and engineering company based in St Albans, is sponsoring the fundraising event and their nominated charity, The Cancer Treatment and Research Trust, will be the ultimate beneficiary.
Giffen Group chairman Jo Giffen said: "We've been based in St Albans since our foundation in 1909 and the firework display will be a great way to celebrate our centenary."
District council culture chief, Cllr Melvyn Teare, said a lot of hard work has gone into organising the event: "We've got around 400 volunteers helping out on the night and we really do rely on their help.
"It's a super family occasion and we're encouraging everyone to come along and show their support."
