An embankment slip and a fallen tree have brought train services on the Abbey Flyer line to a halt today.
London Midland was notified at around 6.30pm this morning about the incident in Park Street which occurred during last night’s high winds and rain.
The falling tree caused damage to overhead power lines and the rail service has been replaced by road transport. A spokesperson for London Midland said that with the number of fallen trees Network Rail was having to deal with, it was likely to remain the case throughout Christmas Eve.
