St Albans band Enter Shikari have performed their final UK show of the year – a headline set at London’s 10,000 capacity Alexandra Palace, as part of Vans Warped Tour 2013.

Speaking to the Herts Advertiser ahead of the weekend performance, bassist Chris Batten said the post-hardcore quartet was looking forward to playing at the iconic venue yesterday (Sunday).

He said that with, “so many good bands, it was recommended to us for all the right reasons.”

On November 4 Enter Shikari released the third of its singles for 2013, Rat Race through the band’s own Ambush Reality label.

This follows The Paddington Frisk and Radiate.

Chris said the band recently performed the new single live for the first time at a concert in Minsk.

He said: “We were a bit nervous about the response from the crowd, so we played it in the middle of the set and had great feedback.”

The band have notched up an eventful year, celebrating their 10th anniversary by performing throughout Europe and the UK.

And in May Enter Shikari launched their signature brew, a new lager, ‘Sssnakepit’, at The Boot in Market Place.

Rou Reynolds, Rory Clewlow, Rob Rolfe and Chris formed the band while attending Verulam and Sandringham Schools.

Chris said that after a busy year the band members would spend the first part of 2014 in their hometown, St Albans, focussing on writing and recording their fourth album.
