Emergency gas works will shortly be underway this morning (Thursday) in Harpenden to repair a leak.
Sara Wilcox, regional media officer (east) for National Grid, warned motorists that there will be temporary traffic lights at the junction of Station Road, Station Approach and Victoria Road in the town to enable emergency gas work to be carried out.
The lights will come into operation from 10am to allow National Grid engineers to repair the gas leak.
Sara said: “Engineers will work to repair the gas escape as soon as possible however it is not yet known exactly how long the repair work will take.
“National Grid would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to local people and motorists while this work takes place.”
