Exhibitors and visitors have said farewell to the annual St Albans Model Railway Exhibition which has been a feature in the city in January for the past 30 years.
Organised by the Chiltern Model Railway Association, the annual exhibition at the Alban Arena was held there for the last time earlier this month and attracted crowds of enthusiasts and plenty of children, fascinated by the working layouts.
It is moving to the Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre from next year which is on one level and will enable it to expand. It also offers better parking and layout opportunities.
The final exhibition at the Arena featured more than 20 working layouts, many of which were relatively new to the exhibition circuit or had not been seen in the area previously, trade and specialist stands and demonstrations.
