EMERGENCY repair works are to be carried out on Victoria Street, in St Albans, on Friday.
Four-way temporary traffic lights will be in place at the junction with Alma Road and Beaconsfield Road, from 9am, to enable Hertfordshire Highways to carry out temporary repairs to subsidence in the road.
The work is expected to be completed by 3.30pm.
Initial temporary repairs and sweeping of debris is being carried out tonight (Wednesday) and permanent repairs will be carried out in the new year.
Herts Highways has apologised for any disruption this may cause, but said the work was “unavoidable” as it would put road users at risk if the repairs were left until after Christmas.
