A car has been broken into on a residential street in St Albans.

Between 5pm on Sunday, April 15 and 8.10am on Monday, April 16, an Apple iPhone charger and a quantity of cash was stolen from a black Mercedes-Benz on Elm Street.

Police have asked anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at that time, or has any information about the theft, to contact them on 101 and give crime reference F1/18/1772.

They have also advised people to make sure they lock their cars and shut windows and sunroofs, always take the keys out of the ignition and do not leave them lying around or visible from the outside of the house, take valuables out of the car, remove Sat Navs and wipe away the suction marks they leave.
