AN ELDERLY pedestrian was seriously injured on Friday after a collision with a car in St Albans.
The accident occurred just before 2.30pm on London Road and involved a man in his 70s and a blue Lexus, which was being driven by a woman in her 50s.
The Hertfordshire Air Ambulance attended the scene but was not required. Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson, who attended the scene, said: “The man who we believe to be in his 70s received a head injury and following treatment, stabilisation and immobilisation at the roadside by paramedics and a doctor from the air ambulance, he was conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington by land ambulance.”
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them on 0845 33 00 222, the non-emergency number.
