AN ELDERLY man has died after being involved in a collision with a car earlier this month.
He has been named today as 80-year-old Mathew Winter who lived in Harpenden.
The accident involving a silver Ford Focus happened outside the Esso petrol station in Lower Luton Road, Harpenden, at around 7am, on Thursday, February 10.
Mr Winter suffered serious head and knee injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remained in a critical condition until his death in the early hours of Friday morning.
Police have issued an appeal for information and witnesses to the accident and anyone who can help should contact Pc Kevin Sloan on 0845 3300 222 urgently.
