HARD work has paid off for the boys of St Columba’s College in St Albans, as they achieved excellent results in their A-level exams.

Some of the best grades went to Daniel Efford who secured full marks in several of his papers coming out with three A* grades and one A.

A total of 29 A* grades were awarded to 19 pupils and the school again increased the number of students achieving top marks, with those receiving A* to B grades totalling 75 per cent.

The school said it was thrilled with the results and the fact they are sending an unprecedented numbers of students to their first choice university courses.

AS-level results were similarly successful for the school, with over 50 per cent of the cohort gaining at least two A grades.
