A HORSE-RIDING team from a St Albans college romped home at the Eastern Regional Riding for the Disabled (RDA) Qualifier earlier this month.
There were six winners on Oaklands College RDA team with eight riders going through to the National Championships on July 9 and 10 at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire. More than 90 riders competed on the day in classes including walk, trot, canter and the countryside challenge which requires riders to negotiate an obstacle course. The college’s RDA team riders gained first and second places.
Sarah Moreland, pathway manager for business and ICT at the college, said: “The whole of the Eastern Region RDA have gone away very happy. We were delighted with the efforts of the Oaklands RDA team and their results just show what hard work both the learners, instructors and volunteers continue to put in.”
