GIFTED university students who first met at a St Albans secondary school enjoyed a recent reunion.
The nine students, who now attend universities such as Warwick, Cambridge, Oxford and Imperial College London, were some of the first Verulam School pupils to partake in the school’s Gifted and Talented initiative, an ongoing project which seeks to challenge the school’s most able pupils.
The group, which formed the Gifted and Talented team six years ago, were reunited at their old school and after swopping tales of university life, they met up with some of their old teachers who tutored them as part of the scheme.
The initiative has since gone from strength to strength and now provides a weekly humanities masterclass for outstanding pupils in each year group.
