A VISIT to her school by Olympic athlete Larry Achike was particularly memorable for pupil Tajmun Sayeda.

For Tajmun was given the opportunity to sign a Union Jack flag which will be presented to the British team for the 2012 Olympics.

Larry was visiting Fleetville Junior School in St Albans in conjunction with Team Supersports and 350 excited children watched him demonstrate his triple jump talents – he is the current Commonwealth Gold Medal holder in the sport.

The children took part in a fitness circuit in the school hall and were later able to ask Larry questions and probe him on many aspects of his life and ambitions.

As well as the educational and fitness benefits of his visit, the children were taking part in a fundraising event. They were sponsored by friends and family to complete the fitness circuit with the money raised being split between the school and the Team Superschools Award Scheme which gives assistance to talented pupils in sport.
