CROHN’S disease sufferer Stewart Broome took to the open road on two wheels to raise money for a St Albans-based charity.
With friends, he cycled from Chorleywood to Chamonix in France on an eight-day marathon last year which they jokingly named the Tour de Farce.
With team members Lesley Eames and Chris Quelch (pictured above), Stewart presented a cheque for nearly 2,270 to Crohn’s and Colitis UK at their offices in Sutton Road.
Stewart was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2002 and said of the ride: ”My main aim was to raise awareness.”
