GCSE students at Marlborough School scored some fantastic results this year, exceeding all their set targets.

Despite the gloomy weather, there were delighted cheers at the Watling Street school today (Thursday) as students realised their successes and began planning the next stage of their learning.

Results have improved significantly on last year, with a seven per cent increase in those gaining five or more A* - C grades, including English and Maths. This exceeds the national figure of 69 per cent by a whopping 22 per cent.

Headteacher, Annie Thomson, said: “As always, we are thrilled for all our students and say a special thank you to all staff and parents for their hard work and unstinting support.

“Very well done indeed.”
