A STORYTELLER recited tales from across the world when she visited children at a school as part of Book Week.

Tricia George joined pupils at Park Street JMI school for a day of African, South American and Caribbean story and dance, holding workshops throughout the day to teach pupils about the different cultures and countries.

Each class was also given an author to learn about during the week and dressed up as a character from one of their books on the Friday.

Costumes included characters from Dr Seuss books and many of the Year 5 children, who are learning about World War Two, arrived at school dressed as evacuees.

Headteacher of the Branch Road school, Geoff Sturgess, who donned a Captain Hook outfit, said the children thoroughly enjoyed the week.
