Babies were “blinded by science” with light and sensory activities as part of Grasshoppers nursery’s Science Week.
Grasshoppers, based on York Road in St Albans, held the event as part of British Science Week in honour of Prof Stephen Hawking, who died earlier this month. Experiments included fizzy ice, coke and pennies as well as tie-dying.
Grasshoppers Manager Jennifer Neville said: “We were delighted to make Science Week in honour of the late scientist, Stephen Hawking.
“At Grasshoppers we aim to stimulate and nurture young minds to develop interests for life. Science is a topic which inspires awe and wonder as well as helping children to understand processes.”
British Science Week is run by the British Science Association and was held between March 9 and 18 to celebrate science, technology, engineering and maths and engage people of all ages across the UK.
