SHAKESPEARE’S most famous play was brought to life on a school stage recently.
A 40-strong cast at Roundwood Park School in Harpenden had been rehearsing their interpretation of Romeo and Juliet since September ahead of the four performances.
Led by Catherine Lewis as Juliet and Kieran France as Romeo, it was the first time the school had performed any Shakespeare play in a show open to the public.
Head of drama, Mike Garbutt, said the students had worked “fantastically” and explained that they had staged the play to try and use the chorus to bring out the work’s darker elements.
