Thirty more places are set to be created at St Peter’s Primary School in St Albans.

There will be additional classrooms and the school is expected to be available from September 2020, with the capacity to admit 60 reception-age children and a full two-form entry thereafter.

The plans were approved by Herts county council’s cabinet, and a spokesperson said: “We are committed to making sure every child in Hertfordshire has a place at one of our great schools so they can reach their full potential. That means ensuring the right number of school places in the best location.”

A consultation was run from January to March and there was a good level of support for the proposal.

There will now be a statutory notice period, running from May 4 until June 7 and the cabinet will make a final decision in July if there are any objections.
