A group of future engineers and computer programmers have been recognised at a major LEGO competition.
The five Year 11s from Beaumont School took a robot they designed and built to the First LEGO League in London.
Their teacher, Dr Amanda Jones, said: “They really enjoyed it, and the engineering they did will help them if they want to go into that for a career.
“Some of them are already doing computer science for GCSE.”
Judges were impressed the pupils used two prototypes and merged them in the end, and said their computer programming showed some enhanced skills.
The First LEGO League is an international competition open to children aged between nine and 16.
Teams of up to 10 are tasked with completing particular challenges in up to 16 weeks.
