A quartet of youngsters from a St Albans primary school know that numbers equate to top marks after winning first place in a Year 6 Maths Challenge.
Harvey Young, Robert Turner, Tom Cox and Amy Davis, all in Year 6 at Prae Wood School in King Harry Lane, beat off competition from over 20 schools at the challenge which was held at Aldwickbury School in Harpenden.
The other schools taking part included the hosts, St Columba’s in St Albans, St Hilda’s in Harpenden and Abbots Hill in Hemel Hempstead as well as Lyndhurst House prep school in Camden.
The ‘mathletes’ as the quartet was dubbed have been strongly influenced in their maths teaching by their current teacher, Lauren Rogers
