A half century of education has been celebrated by a Catholic primary school with activities for the children and a visit from the Archbishop of Westminster.
Fittingly, St John Fisher School in Hazelmere Road, St Albans, chose to hold its 50th anniversary celebrations on the Feast of St John Fisher late last month.
The school welcomed the Archbishop, Cardinal Vincent Nichols, who celebrated mass and was joined by past and present parents, pupils, teachers, headteachers and other friends.
Every past headteacher was present at the celebration or represented.
Themed activities were laid on for the children including art, cooking and drama as well as a family picnic lunch.
