BUDDING mathematicians at a school in St Albans took part in the world’s largest maths lesson last Friday and raised cash for charity.

183 children at St John Fisher School took part in Number Day 2010 along with hundreds of others schools across the country. At 11am, schools simultaneously took part in a fun-packed maths lesson and raised cash for the NSPCC.

Each child at St John Fisher was asked to donate £2 to take part in the event and during the session they solved mathematical problems and worked in groups to sequence numbers.

The school raised in excess of £400 on the day for vulnerable children across the UK.
