CHILDREN at an infants school helped plan their own version of the opening ceremony for the London Olympic Games.

Pupils and staff of Bernards Heath Infants and Nursery School in St Albans wore red, white and blue and parents enthusiastically supported the ceremony.

Nearly 320 children took part, re-enacting the torch relay to Take That’s Relight My Fire as well as running a marathon to Chariots of Fire. A marching band of nursery children added to the entertainment.

The school also wrote its own rap to the Olympic values and the children took part in ribbon and balloon dances.
