The latest updates from each school in St Albans district on how their GCSE pupils fared this year in the liveblog below.

This year 23 subjects will be graded on a mixed numbered and lettered scale from one to U, instead of the wholly lettered system.

A score of one is equivalent to a grade G under the old system and a score of nine is equivalent to a grade above A*, while the A* grade is equivalent to a score of eight.

The grade of U has survived through to the new system and is for papers which are worse than the score of one.

Ofqual, the qualifications regulator, says the new scores will better differentiate between students of different abilities.

English language, English literature and maths were first scored according to the numbered system last year.
