The Saints have been getting into schools as part of St Albans City’s Youth in the Community programme.

Representatives from the football club recently attended assemblies at St Peter’s School and Oakwood School to deliver sessions covering everything from team work to healthy lifestyles.

Lawrence Levy, co-owner of St Albans City FC, led the assembles supported by young coaches from the City Youth Disability Section and club mascot Sammy the Saint.

Community coach Tom Ward said: “I was nervous at first but the children appreciated the positive message about being part of a team. We also spoke about healthy eating and drinking plenty of water. The children asked questions at the end and were very well behaved throughout.”

The work forms part of St Albans City FC’s ongoing work in the community, and is funded by the Premier League and PFA through the Conference League Trust.
