THE LEISURE activities of St Albans children have been captured in a time capsule and buried at Willows Farm Village.

Pupils from Bowmansgreen Primary School in London Colney made their own history yesterday (Wednesday, March 2) when they buried their time capsule under the new JCB Young Drivers Zone which is currently under construction.

The Year 2 and Year 5 pupils wore hard hats and hi-vis vests as they buried a selection of items, including a toy digger and miniature farmyard animals, as well as personal written statements about how they spend their leisure time.

Moira White, headteacher at Bowmansgreen, said: “The children have put a lot of thought into describing how they spend their leisure time and what their favourite animals are, for the children of the future to read, while also trying to guess which year the capsule will be discovered. They’ve thoroughly enjoyed working on this project and taking part in such an historic moment.”
