A CITY centre school fended off stiff competition from six other local schools to win a 500 prize.
Aboyne Lodge School in Etna Road, St Albans, won the Maltings shopping centre’s Quids 4 Kids campaign and was presented with its prize during an assembly recently.
At the beginning of April, the Maltings invited parents, teachers and pupils to collect receipts from shops at the centre with the prize going to the school which accumulated the most.
Humyra Miah, a pupil at Aboyne Lodge, also received a special prize for being the individual who gathered the most receipts and received her prize at the same assembly.
Maltings Centre Manager, Phil Corrigan, said: “Many congratulations to Aboyne Lodge School for winning the centre’s Quids 4 Kids campaign. I’m sure they will put the money to very good use.”
