SCHOOLS and nurseries across the district held their own Royal Wedding parties in the run up to the big day last week.

Numerous Royal and British-themed events took place in St Albans and Harpenden and there were even two mock weddings.

On Thursday the Abbey Primary School staged a pretend marriage ceremony at St Albans Abbey conducted by sub dean Rev Canon Stephen Lake. It was followed by a wedding breakfast for the children back at the school.

The previous day, Bernards Heath Infant School had held two own mock weddings at the school.
