Youngsters at a Harpenden primary school are among the safest in the county.
High Beeches in Harpenden has been awarded the Hertfordshire Schools Road Safety Award 2014 as recognition for the work that it has done to increase the amount of road safety training that is offered to the pupils.
This year children in each class of the school have undertaken some form of county council-led road safety training including pedestrian skills, scooter and cycle training. In previous years this had been offered solely to one year group.
Headteacher Paul Driver thanked parents who had helped with the training without whose support it could not have taken place.
