Redbourn Infant and Junior School pupils looked on in awe as Hertfordshire's new air ambulance swooped in for a visit.

The £6.5million Essex and Herts Air Ambulance (EHAA) landed on the school playing field, where the crew was presented with a cheque for £1,500.

The money was raised by pupils through sponsorship for the Redbourn fun run.

The children were then given the chance to sit in the helicopter and ask questions of the crew during the visit on Tuesday, June 27.

The air ambulance’s clinical director Stuart Elms said: “Thank you all for the support - and what brilliant questions from the kids, very astute bunch!”

The cheque was presented by Larissa Lane and Daisy Coleville, who managed the raise the most money for the charity from sponsorship.

The pair were given with vouchers by the Redbourn fun run committee for their efforts.

This year’s Redbourn fun run was completed by a record 802 people, who raised £10,000 for charity.
