THERE was a jubilant atmosphere at St Albans High School for Girls this morning (Thursday) as students received a record-breaking set of A-level results.
This year, 80 per cent of grades were awarded at A*/A, with just over 31 per cent scoring the top A*, compared to 8.2 per cent nationally.
First choice university offers were achieved by 89 per cent of the girls, with five taking up Oxbridge places.
Additionally, outstanding results have been achieved at AS level, where 85.7 per cent of all grades scored A/B.
Headmistress Rosemary Martin said: “I am extremely proud of all the girls and of the hard work they have put into achieving such excellent results.”
