A RECORD number of pupils at St Albans Girls’ School have secured Oxbridge, medicine and veterinary places.

Headteacher Margaret Chapman described the A-level results as “outstanding” with 11 students securing Oxbridge, medicine and veterinary places, and 23 pupils achieving A* and A grades alone.

She added: “We are extremely proud of all of our A-level students. They have worked so hard demonstrating great commitment and determination and have been rewarded with great successes.

“We congratulate everyone on their superb achievements. Enormous thanks go to staff and parents who have so admirably supported all of our young people throughout their learning journey.”

Rachelle Regan, head of sixth form, was also delighted that so many students achieved their choice of university and other courses, adding it was a, “result of their dedication to their studies”.
