A new pressure group has been formed in St Albans to protest funding cuts to the city’s schools.
Fair Funding For All Schools say Herts schools face cuts of up to 13 per cent by 2019/20.
Co-founder Diane Secker said: “Education is really important to families in St Albans and we have excellent schools.
“Headteachers don’t over share about the financial difficulties they face, but the letters home asking for donations tell a different story.
“Parents need assurances that schools are getting the investment they need. We won’t stand by and let our schools go under. There is far too much at stake”
The group is holding a public meeting at The Sandpit Theatre on Monday, October 16.
Sandringham School head Alan Gray and representatives from the National Education Union (formerly the National Union of Teachers) will be speaking.
