A new canopy and resurfaced playground was donated to a Harpenden primary school to promote a more inclusive and positive environment.
There is a also plaque to recognise the Harpenden Building Society’s (HBS) support for Beech Hyde Primary.
CEO of HBS, Carl Astley, was pleased to see children enjoying their new play area: “We feel extremely privileged to have had this opportunity. This is the beginning of our journey to invest more into our local communities.”
An HBS community engagement team was recently set up to promote better environments, education and opportunities to help younger generations succeed.
Beech Hyde’s Acting Head, Kate Harvey, said: “The efforts of the society have certainly made a difference for the children at Beech Hyde.
“They have helped to improve not only the space but facilities and surroundings for our children.”
Adding: “Following the successful launch of our playground and canopy, we look forward to revealing more good news about Beech Hyde, as the school takes its course towards an even more positive future.”
