A SCHOOL has been credited for its use of information and communications technology (ICT) to improve the learning experience of its students to a level which exceeds the national standard.

Beechwood Park School in Markyate has been awarded the prestigious ICT Mark, an award which recognises a school’s strategic use of ICT to employ modern technology in a way which benefits the curriculum.

Patrick Atkinson, headmaster of Beechwood Park School said: “This accolade recognises our positive approach to ICT and the benefits it is bringing to our pupils. We believe that ICT can be used in every aspect of learning and that it is essential our children are equipped for the modern world. Warmest thanks to Mr Casimir-Mrowczynski and all staff involved in ensuring the school was ready for the ICT Mark assessment.”

The award is run by the professional association “Naace” and is supported by The Department for Education.

Bernadette Brooks, “Naace” general manager, said: “Beechwood Park thoroughly deserves the accolade of an ICT Mark accreditation. They have clearly demonstrated how important it is to take a whole school approach to using ICT in schools.”
