St Albans pupils have been featured on a TV show made specifically for deaf children.
Heathlands School children have been featured on the opening credits of ‘Up For It?’, which broadcasts on the Community Channel and the BSL Zone website. ‘Up For It?’ showcases the talents of deaf children and encourages them to pursue their life goals.
Heathlands headteacher Deborah Jones-Stevens said: “The children were hugely excited. All children like to be on television, especially something that was deliberately made for them.”
The school attracted the attention of the show’s producers after taking part in a national signing choir competition.
One of the presenters of ‘Up For It?’, Mia Ward, is a former pupil of Heathlands, and current pupils have been featured on the show.
This latest appearance comes after the school was graded outstanding by Ofsted in September.
