HEADTEACHERS across the district have praised A-level students in St Albans and Harpenden for their achievements.

Claire Robins, the chair of St Albans and Harpenden Secondary School Headteachers’ Association, said the results provided positive representations of a “motivated and hard-working” group of young people.

She said: “At a time when we have seen some very negative representations of young people in the media, it is a real pleasure to be able to celebrate the achievements of hard-working, motivated students who are clearly a million miles away from the images we have seen in the press recently.

“Students in St Albans and Harpenden have worked extremely conscientiously to attain these excellent results, with the support of their parents and the staff at their schools, and should be immensely proud of all they have achieved.”
