LUNCHTIME fundraising at a Harpenden school has raised thousands of pounds for a building fund in the town.
Pupils at St George’s School in Sun lane spent a week of lunchtimes fundraising for three local charities, one of which was Harpenden Mencap which has now been presented with a cheque for 3,500 for its Carlton Road building fund.
Head boy Sam Strain and head girl Sarah Ingram presented the cheque and Sam said the week went “fantastically well” with everyone getting behind the series of events which were held, especially the musical-themed finale
Sarah added: “We were delighted with how students responded to the week and we thought this charity was a great incentive for people to get involved.”
