Pupils at a school in Harpenden donned Brownie, Scout, Cub and Beaver uniforms in honour of World Thinking Day.
World Thinking Day, on February 22, is a day of international friendship celebrated on the birthday of both Lord Robert and Lady Olave Baden-Powell, who founded scouting and guiding.
This year’s theme was ‘impact’. The scout groups led an activity to encourage pupils at St Nicholas Primary School in Harpenden to think about their impact on others and how small actions can have far-reaching results.
The children created a ‘kindness board’ to encourage each other to make a positive impact, and thought about ways to protect the local environment. Year 4 pupil Jonathan said: “We set ourselves something to do to show kindness.”
Headteacher Rizelle Crouch said: “The children were very keen to take part in World Thinking Day and find ways to impact on the world around them.”
