Students were jumping for joy at St Albans Girls’ School (STAGS) this morning after an array of impressive GCSE results were revealed.

A spokesperson for the school said there were a significant number of students achieving the highest possible results in all subject areas, and many students achieved straight A* and A grades.

Julia Halligan, who achieved A * grades in all of her subjects, said: “I’m elated and overwhelmed. I can’t believe I achieved so many A*s!”

Susie Williams, who also achieved all A* grades, was equally elated and said that she was really pleased and really happy that everybody else has done so well.
